About The Vienna Center for Quantum Science and Technology

The Vienna Center for Quantum Science and Technology is a research consortium in Vienna, Austria, established in 2010. It links quantum groups at the University of Vienna, TU Wien, the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Science and Technology Austria. It is a specialist quantum-science network, not a separate degree-granting university.

Research covers quantum optics, quantum information, many-body physics, and related experiment and theory. Graduate researchers sit in partner laboratories, including IQOQI Vienna, not in a standalone VCQ faculty.

The participating groups amount to hundreds of scientists and doctoral students in Vienna and nearby, with a large international share.

Doctoral study proceeds through the partner universities' PhD programs, with a supervisor in a VCQ group and shared schools across the network. Daily work is in university and academy labs in the city.

In the Grad School Navigator directory, The Vienna Center for Quantum Science and Technology lists 1 doctoral program, in physics.
