About Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS)
The Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School was founded in 1991 in Leura, New South Wales, as a specialist college for hotel and hospitality management in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. It later became part of Torrens University Australia and also teaches at a campus in Sydney.
The school concentrates on hotel operations, hospitality and tourism management. Graduate study centers on a master's in international hotel management, with hotel internships built into the curriculum and teaching staff who combine academic and industry roles.
Combined enrollment across its hospitality programs is in the low thousands, with a high share of international students, many from Asia. The Leura site is a residential hotel-school campus; the Sydney site serves students placed in city hotels.
The master's is a coursework professional degree with a substantial paid industry placement. There is no doctoral program. Students divide time between the mountain town of Leura and Sydney hotels, in a training-hotel setting rather than a research university.
In the Grad School Navigator directory, Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) lists 1 master's program.
