Thompson Rivers University

Thompson Rivers University is a public university in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. It opened as Cariboo College in 1970, operated as the University College of the Cariboo, and became a university in 2005. Its defining structure is a regional campus plus Open Learning, a large distance-education division.

Faculties include arts, science, business and economics, education, nursing, law, adventure, culinary arts, and trades. The Faculty of Law opened in 2014 as the first law school in British Columbia's Interior. Graduate work is strongest in education, business, environmental science, and nursing.

Combined enrollment, including Open Learning, is about 25,000 to 30,000, with a smaller on-campus population in Kamloops, a campus in Williams Lake, and a substantial international share. Faculty serve both face-to-face and distance students.

Graduate degrees are mainly master's programs with coursework and applied projects, not a large doctoral system. Open Learning students study remotely while campus students use a compact site above the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers. Kamloops is a small Interior city with four-season outdoor access.

In the Grad School Navigator directory, Thompson Rivers University lists 1 master's program, in data science & business analytics.
