About Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Berlin

The Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Berlin was founded in 2004 as a Berlin node of Germany's national Bernstein Network. It is a consortium of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, not a standalone university.

For graduate students the center's main taught offering is the international Master's program in Computational Neuroscience, which combines neuroscience, mathematics, physics and computer science. Research groups work on neural coding, sensory and motor systems, behavior and theoretical neuroscience, with laboratories at Charité and the partner universities.

Each master's cohort is small, typically a few dozen students, drawn from many countries. Faculty come from the partner universities and Charité. The center does not maintain a large separate student body of its own.

The master's is a two-year English-language program of coursework, laboratory rotations and a research thesis. Students work across Berlin's university and hospital campuses and often continue to doctoral projects in the same laboratories.

In the Grad School Navigator directory, Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Berlin lists 1 master's program, in biology.
