EIT Digital Master School

The EIT Digital Master School is a pan-European graduate program of EIT Digital, a Knowledge and Innovation Community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, organized in the early 2010s after the EIT ICT Labs phase. It is not a single-city university: students take a two-year master's at two partner universities in two countries, with no home campus of its own. The network spans multiple EU member states rather than one municipal seat.

Technical majors have included data science, cybersecurity, embedded systems, cloud and network infrastructures, human-computer interaction, and related information and communication fields, plus a required innovation and entrepreneurship strand. Partner universities have included Aalto University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Technical University of Berlin, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Politecnico di Milano, University of Twente, and others. A summer school and a master's thesis with an industry or lab partner sit beside the university courses.

Cohorts number in the hundreds across the network rather than thousands on one campus, with students from Europe and from other continents. Teaching staff are those of the partner faculties. Alumni work in European technology firms, start-ups, and doctoral programs; the school is young and does not yet have a long list of public names.

The award is a double master's degree from the entry and exit universities. Year one is coursework at the entry university; year two is specialization and thesis at the exit university. The calendar follows the two hosts. Scholarships from EIT Digital have covered fees and mobility for selected students. Graduate life is mobile: two cities in two years, plus the summer school, rather than a single campus culture.
