London Business School

London Business School is a postgraduate business school in London, founded in 1964 and a college of the University of London. Its main campus occupies historic buildings at Sussex Place beside Regent's Park; it also teaches in Dubai. It is a specialist institute in management, finance and economics rather than a multi-faculty university, and all of its degree students are graduates.

Academic departments include finance, economics, strategy and entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, marketing, management science and operations, and accounting. Research centers that serve graduate students include units in asset management, business and development, and leadership. The school is known for finance, general management and economics as applied to firms and markets. Faculty are active in both academic journals and executive teaching.

Degree enrollment is about 2,000 students across MBA, specialized master's, executive MBA and PhD programs, with a further executive-education population. The MBA and master's cohorts are highly international, typically drawing students from 70 or more countries and with a large majority from outside the United Kingdom. Alumni include senior executives in banking, consulting and industry; the living alumni network numbers in the tens of thousands.

Signature degrees are the MBA, Masters in Finance, Masters in Management, executive MBA, Sloan Masters and a research PhD. MBA and master's study is coursework, case and project based; the PhD is full-time research under a faculty supervisor. The MBA calendar is an intensive 15 to 21 months. Scholarships and fellowships are awarded on merit, with doctoral students usually fully funded. Students live in central London, with the City and Mayfair a short journey from Regent's Park.
