About London Metropolitan University

London Metropolitan University is a public university in London, formed in 2002 by the merger of the University of North London and London Guildhall University. Those parents came from the Northern Polytechnic, opened in Holloway in 1896, and from City of London College and the City of London Polytechnic in the Square Mile. It is a modern civic university, not a collegiate or specialist research institute.

Academic work is organized in schools of business, law, art, architecture and design, computing, social sciences, and human sciences. Graduate students most often enter professional master's work in business, law, architecture, and applied social fields. Teaching is concentrated at the Holloway campus in Islington and the Aldgate campus in the City of London.

Enrollment is about 10,000 to 13,000 students, with a high share of mature, commuting, and international students from a wide set of countries. It is one of London's more demographically mixed student bodies. Alumni work in London public services, business, and the professions.

Graduate study is mainly taught master's degrees, with some research degrees. The model is coursework and professional projects on the standard U.K. autumn-spring calendar. Funding is limited compared with research-intensive universities; many master's students are self-funded. Students live across London and use Holloway or Aldgate as commuting campuses rather than a closed residential college.

In the Grad School Navigator directory, London Metropolitan University lists 2 graduate programs, all of them master's programs.
