About Norwich University of the Arts

Norwich University of the Arts is a specialist arts university in Norwich, England. It was founded in 1845 as the Norwich School of Design, later became Norwich University College of the Arts, and received university title in 2013. Teaching takes place in city-center buildings rather than on a suburban campus.

Subjects include fine art, graphic and communication design, fashion, architecture, film, animation, and games. Graduate work is studio-based in converted historic premises. The institution is a small specialist school, not a multi-faculty university.

About 2,500 students enroll, with a modest international share. Staff are practitioner-teachers. Alumni work in British design, animation, and related creative industries.

Graduate study is mainly taught master's degrees with studio supervision and a smaller research-degree path. The year follows standard United Kingdom semesters. Some scholarships are offered. Students live in Norwich, a regional city that also hosts the University of East Anglia.
