About University of West London

The University of West London is a public university in west London, with campuses in Ealing and Brentford and a site in Reading, Berkshire. It received university status in 1992 as Thames Valley University and took its present name in 2011. Its lineage includes nineteenth- and twentieth-century colleges of music, nursing, and further education. It is a teaching-focused professional university rather than a collegiate or research-intensive one.

Schools include the Claude Littner Business School, the London College of Music, the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare, and schools of law, computing, and hospitality and tourism. Graduate work is concentrated in music, nursing and midwifery, business, aviation and hospitality, and law. The Brentford campus sits near Heathrow, which shapes aviation and hotel management teaching.

Enrollment is about 14,000 to 18,000 students, including a large share of mature and part-time learners. International students form a sizable minority, drawn from Europe, South Asia, and Africa. Alumni include musicians trained at the London College of Music and professionals in nursing, hospitality, and aviation.

Graduate study is mainly taught master's and professional qualifications, with limited research doctorates. Teaching follows a two-semester calendar and is often evening- or block-scheduled for working students. Scholarships exist but funding is more commonly employer support and student loans than a stipend culture. Students typically commute across west London rather than live on a residential campus.

In the Grad School Navigator directory, University of West London lists 1 master's program.
