About Babson College
Babson College is a private business college in Babson Park, in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Founded in 1919 by financier Roger Babson, it has remained a specialist school of entrepreneurship and management rather than a multi-faculty university. That single-field focus on business and new-venture education is its defining structural fact.
Undergraduate education sits beside the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. Graduate programs are the MBA and specialized master's degrees in entrepreneurship, finance, and related management fields. The Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship and the Cutler Center for Investments and Finance are the centers master's students use.
Enrollment is about 4,000, roughly two-thirds undergraduate and one-third graduate. International students are a large share of the graduate cohort, often more than 40 percent, from more than 70 countries. Faculty number a few hundred, many with industry backgrounds. Alumni include Home Depot co-founder Arthur M. Blank and a long list of company founders from the MBA and undergraduate ranks.
Graduate study is coursework-heavy professional master's work on a two-semester calendar, with field projects and incubator components rather than a research-doctorate track. Scholarships and fellowships exist, but many students are self-funded. The campus is suburban, adjacent to Wellesley and a short commute from Boston.
In the Grad School Navigator directory, Babson College lists 3 graduate programs across 3 subjects, all of them master's programs, with the widest choice in business & management, data science & business analytics and finance & financial economics.
