About City University of Seattle
City University of Seattle is a private nonprofit university in Seattle, Washington, founded in 1973 to serve working adults. It grew from evening and weekend teaching into a small institution with additional sites in the Pacific Northwest and, at times, in Canada and other countries. Its defining structure is a career-focused university rather than a residential research campus or a land-grant college.
Academic work is organized around management, technology, education, psychology and related professional fields. Graduate students typically encounter applied business, information systems and education teaching rather than large science laboratories or a university hospital. The Seattle campus is the administrative and teaching hub.
Enrollment is a few thousand students, many of them part-time and already employed, with a mix of U.S. and international students, including those at overseas teaching sites. Faculty are a blend of full-time academics and practitioner instructors. Graduates are concentrated in regional business, education and technology roles.
Graduate study emphasizes professional master's degrees and applied doctorates in education or leadership more than a classic research Ph.D. culture. Coursework is scheduled for working students, including evening, hybrid and online formats on a term calendar. Daily life is that of an urban commuter campus in Seattle rather than a self-contained college town.
In the Grad School Navigator directory, City University of Seattle lists 1 master's program, in business & management.
