About Gonzaga University

Gonzaga University is a private Jesuit university in Spokane, Washington, founded in 1887 and named for St. Aloysius Gonzaga. It grew from a mission-era college into a comprehensive university on a riverside campus in the Logan neighborhood. Jesuit undergraduate core education remains the structural fact, with professional schools added over the twentieth century.

Graduate and professional work sits in the School of Law, the School of Business Administration, the School of Education, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the School of Nursing and Human Physiology, and programs in organizational leadership. Law, education, business, and nursing are the main graduate fields. The law school occupies downtown Spokane in addition to the main campus.

Enrollment is about 7,500, including roughly 2,000 graduate and law students, with a small international share. Faculty number several hundred. Alumni include entertainer Bing Crosby, basketball player John Stockton, and a concentration of lawyers and educators in the inland Northwest.

The JD, education master’s degrees, MBA, and nursing master’s and practice doctorates are the programs most associated with graduate study. Law and education follow professional coursework and clinical or practicum models; leadership degrees often serve working adults. The calendar is a semester system. Spokane is a mid-size city; graduate students use a compact campus along the Spokane River and, for law, the downtown courts.

In the Grad School Navigator directory, Gonzaga University lists 5 graduate programs across 4 subjects: 4 master's programs and 1 doctoral program, with the widest choice in education, accounting and languages & linguistics.
