About University of North Texas
The University of North Texas is a public research university in Denton, Texas, about 35 miles north of Dallas. The Denton campus is the flagship of the University of North Texas System, which also includes a Dallas campus and a health science center in Fort Worth. The institution grew from a teachers college into a comprehensive research university whose College of Music is a defining unit.
Instruction runs through colleges of liberal arts and social sciences, science, engineering, business, education, information, health and public service, visual arts and design, and music, with graduate degrees administered by the Toulouse Graduate School. Fields most associated with the campus include jazz and music education, materials science, information science, education, and logistics. Discovery Park houses engineering laboratories north of the main campus.
