About University of Pennsylvania-Science Po
The University of Pennsylvania–Sciences Po listing is a dual-degree partnership between the University of Pennsylvania, founded in 1740 in Philadelphia, and Sciences Po in Paris, founded in 1872. It is not a separate chartered university. Students divide their studies between France and Pennsylvania in the social sciences, law, and public affairs.
Penn contributes the School of Arts and Sciences and the Carey Law School. Sciences Po contributes its schools of public affairs, international affairs, law, and journalism, with teaching in Paris and other French cities. The shared ground is comparative politics, international relations, and public law.
Joint cohorts are small beside Penn’s about 28,000 students and Sciences Po’s about 15,000, more than 40 percent of them international. Named alumni of the parent schools include French presidents Jacques Chirac and Emmanuel Macron, both Sciences Po graduates.
Students receive dual degrees from the two institutions, not a third charter. Coursework and internships in France are followed by seminars or professional courses in Philadelphia, each year under the host country’s calendar, with housing first in a Sciences Po city and then in West Philadelphia.
In the Grad School Navigator directory, University of Pennsylvania-Science Po lists 1 master's program, in business & management.
