USF enrolls about 50,000 students, including about 9,000 graduate and professional students. International students make up about a tenth of enrollment and come from more than 140 countries. Faculty number several thousand. Alumni include U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, former Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn, and physicians and engineers who entered Florida's hospital and aerospace sectors.
