About Yale-HEC

Yale-HEC is a dual-degree graduate management partnership between Yale School of Management in New Haven, Connecticut, and HEC Paris. It is not a free-standing university: students enroll through the two schools and complete required terms on both campuses. Yale dates to 1701, HEC Paris to 1881, and Yale SOM to 1976. The defining structure is a two-campus MBA track rather than a collegiate system, a land-grant campus, or a single-faculty institute.

Study is confined to business and management. At Yale, students take the integrated MBA core covering leadership, accounting, economics, statistics, and operations, then electives on the New Haven campus. At HEC they take MBA coursework in strategy, finance, and international management on the Jouy-en-Josas campus southwest of Paris. The partnership does not run its own hospitals, laboratories, or science faculties; research and teaching sit inside the two business schools.

Each MBA class at the parent schools numbers a few hundred students; the dual-degree cohort is a small subset of those classes. Both campuses enroll a large share of students from outside the United States and France. Faculty belong to Yale SOM or HEC rather than to a separate Yale-HEC roster. Alumni of the parent schools include Indra Nooyi of Yale SOM and François-Henri Pinault of HEC Paris.

The degree path is a dual MBA, typically one academic year in New Haven and one year in France, on a coursework model rather than a research doctorate. Supervision follows each school's MBA advising and career offices. Scholarship and loan aid are those of the two MBA programs. Graduate life is split between a compact urban campus in New Haven and HEC's campus in the Paris suburbs.

In the Grad School Navigator directory, Yale-HEC lists 1 master's program, in business & management.
